A synthesis of traditional and modern that promises a leap forward for all-electric boating.
Featuring the award-winning Ocracoke 20 hull by B & B Yacht Designs that is celebrated for its efficiency and remarkable handling characteristics, the Ocracoke 20 Electric maximizes the impressive speed and range of the Flux 100hp outboard thanks to the lightweight strength of a cold-molded plywood hull sheathed in epoxy and fiberglass which weighs about 40% less than an equivalent solid fiberglass hull. While we won't get real-world numbers until Hull #1 completes sea trials, our conservative projections call for a top speed of over 40 mph with a range of over 30 miles at fast cruise and over 50 miles at a moderate cruise. Such speed and range mean the Ocracoke 20 Electric has the potential to satisfy a wide range of customers, from recreational lake boaters to salt water fisherman to municipal and government uses.
Simple. Rugged. Functional.
Our goal isn't to build a boat with all the latest gadgets and gizmos. Rather, we want to build a tough boat that does the job it's supposed to do, does it well, and balances form, function, and the elegance of simplicity. Such a philosophy leads to boats that are easy to use, easy to maintain, and highly durable. It also offers a more accessible price point that we feel is important in helping to bring fully electrified boating out of its niche market and into the main stream.
Proudly built in South Portland, Maine.
We still build the "old fashioned" way by hand in our shop in South Portland, Maine. We are wooden boat people who own and operate a fleet of restored Maine-built boats for commercial purposes in Casco Bay. Our livelihoods depend on the quality of our workmanship each and every day we are on the water. We don't cut corners, and we honor the Yankee creativity, ingenuity, and integrity of our forefathers. Our shop operates as a collaborative bringing together skilled marine craftsmen with a wide range of expertise.
Hull #1 Launching in early 2026
The hull exterior is complete and interior stringers, deck beams, and foam billets are in process. We are waiting to finalize battery and outboard installation timing with our partners at Flux. Target completion is for early spring of 2026, but sea trials and performance testing will hopefully happen this fall. We are happy to discuss final fit-out customizations for the inaugural build. Drop us a line and let's start the conversation.
